Hunting Areas: Beceite and Tortosa Mountains
The hunting areas are southwest of Barcelona and approximately 100 miles from Valencia. The hunt is done by stalking at altitudes between 2,500 feet and 5,000 feet, but it is not difficult. Because of the excellent habitat and the location next to a nature reserve, top trophies are readily obtainable with an average size between 205-225 CIC points. Trophies are available above 230 CIC points. For example, Mrs. Nina Sorensen shot an Ibex that scored 260 CIC points! The hunting season is October 1 to May 31. The best hunting period is from the end of October to the middle of January and from the end of March to the beginning of May. Sitting and waiting is sometimes as successful as stalking. Lodging is in quaint hotels in the hunting area.

GREDOS IBEX
Hunting Area: Gredos Mountains
The hunting area is approximately 100 miles west of Madrid. The hunt is conducted by stalking, sometimes with horses, at elevations above 6,500 feet. There are lots of Ibex, so the season is year around, but the best hunting period is the end of October to the end of December. Lodging is in hotels close to the hunting area.

SIERRA NEVADA IBEX
Hunting Area: Sierra Nevada Mountains
The hunting area is not far from Granada and is about 60 miles northeast of Malaga airport. Hunting is done by stalking in private concessions, so the trophy size is very good.  The best hunting periods are from the end of October to mid-January and the end of March to the beginning of May. The hunting season is October 1 - June 30. Lodging is in a very nice hotel in Granada.

RONDA IBEX
Hunting Area: Ronda Mountains
This is the smallest of the four Spanish Ibex. The hunting area is not far from Ronda which is about 50 miles northwest of Malaga airport. Hunting is done by stalking at elevations of 2,000 to 2,500 feet. The best hunting period is from the end of October to mid-January. The hunting season is October 1 - February 8. Lodging is in a nice hotel close to the hunting area.
