Notes: (1) * Means 'huntable," but difficult due to limited numbers. (2) Elephant hunts are highly successful, but the trophy is not importable to the U.S. The Elephant package is 14 days, 30,000 including the trophy fee up to 50 pounds for the heaviest tusk; then 500 per pound over 50. All other species may be hunted except the cats. (3) A species not included in a package may be shot by paying for the difference to the higher package plus the trophy fee. (4) Hunting is allowed by rifle (.375 minimum for Buffalo or Elephant), muzzleloader, handgun, bow, or crossbow.

Hunting license: 400. Weapon license: 400 each. Ammo license: 50 each 20 rounds. Trophy prep and shipment to Maputo: 700. Most hunters fly from Europe or South Africa to Maputo and then to Lichinga (about 550). Ground transport to camp: 300. Observers are welcome at 150 per day.
